Among the wildly flourishing areas within The Woodlands springs the rumors of yet another new development: Woodland Creek. This mixed-use development will occupy 75 acres on the edge of The Woodlands, located at 1823 Sawdust Road, southeast of Sawmill Road. The developer making headway on this particular project is Houston’s PinPoint Commercial, who planned to break ground on April 24th. This new section of The Woodlands will include high-end residential housing, upscale office and commercial space, and a little bit of retail, as reported at a press release. PinPoint Commercial projects Woodland Creek to be finished in five or six years, and surpassing a completed valuation of $250 million.
PinPoint CEO and President, John Thompson, said, “Our goal is to create a best-in-class mixed-use development. We are thrilled to begin breaking ground on a beautiful piece of land and look forward to creating an environment that its residents and tenants can be proud of.”
Getting down to details, Woodland Creek will contain two buildings that include 444,000 square feet of office space as well as about 52,000 square feet for retail purposes. The area may also be ideal for restaurants, banks, and medical businesses, as suggested by PinPoint. Housing will consist of single-family residences, apartments, and townhomes. Some of these housing projects will break ground beginning in the third quarter of 2014 as well as office space, utilities and street paving. Commercial projects are still in the early phase, as contractors work on design and pre-marketing.
It looks like amenities are in the works as well. The Panther Branch Creek will be preserved in its natural state and encouraged for recreational, like jogging and sports, activities. And of course, new traffic lanes and signal lights and signs will be planned and added to the intersection of Sawdust Road and the new Woodlands Field Crossing.
