In a society where everything runs on technology, it’s important to be current in order to stay relevant in the market. Already, there are apps available to list and find homes.
The Search
Zillow is a popular app that lists homes for sale with details about each property and includes a GPS feature to help you find each listing. Trulia is another mobile app that pulls information from its parent website. You can also find information on houses on the Redfin app, which includes photos and details on the listings. Most of these apps give you the ability to create custom searches for homes that match your personal criteria.
The Home Search app, or Home Tracker, helps you keep track of the properties you have already seen; the PictNote aspect especially is used to combine both photographs and comments to create memorable notes about listings you’ve visited. Apps like Wikihood or Suburb Scout allow you to research a neighborhood while Safe Neighborhood and Crime Stats further provide you with information about safety within a particular community.
Financing the Deal
There are many apps that exist purely to help you calculate mortgages. Some help estimate the loan you are qualified for to ones that calculate monthly mortgage payments and even apps that tell you your home price per square foot and amortization schedule. Helpful apps like the Home Buying Power app even let you enter your financial information and calculate what you can afford to pay monthly.
Digital Documentation
Phone apps can also help with scanning documents and storing them in the cloud for you. DocuSign is a great example; it allows you and your agent to electronically sign and collect contracts and store a current contract so that you have it available whenever you need it.
Miscellaneous
Apps also exist for many other useful real estate uses. You can track open houses, learn about real estate terminology, plan your move, create a home inspection checklist, and more. All it takes is a little bit of searching with your phone. And as with most apps, they vary from Free to only a couple of dollars in price. Ask your local real estate agent what apps are most helpful and necessary during your search in the market.
