Growth in Texas is coming from more than Jobs

Posted OnDec 01, 2011

Texas is growing, growing and growing!  It’s 7 Billion land sf is more than than New England, NY, PA, RI, OH and Puerto Rico combined.  The University of TX is the 3rd largest land owner of land in the US. Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio are projected to grow to 40 M people from currently 25 M by the year 2030!  These 4 cities make up the Texaplex and are all the buzz in the ever growing state of Texas. Houston has more people than the entire population of Colorado and 34 other states. It is considered the energy capital of the world and the largest medical center complex in the world. It also has the 2nd highest theater seats behind NYC, culture is an attraction.Forbes ranked Houston one of the best cities to buy a home.  Dallas has the 4th most billionaires in the country. Austin is ranked #1 for small business with tech and pharmacueticals business growing. Austin is also considered the Live music capital of the world. 3 of these cities were ranked in the top 10 for cities for young professionals to live.

So why is everyone moving to Texas?  GROWTH in jobs, the economy, retail space (25% of all retail space in the US), NO state tax and NO tax on goods in transit.  Texas is the 11th largest economy in the world!  Real estate continues to be strong in Texas and in Houston.  In The Woodlands where I live, we have hit a major milestone. We are now 100,000 residents strong.  The growth in this community that started not long ago in 1975 continues to attract small business and new homeowners alike.  Schools, parks, churches, entertainment, shopping and culture are all part of the attraction to The Woodlands.

Watch this video and find out more as to why Texas continues to be the Lone Star.
